WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer announced today that the United States has asked Mexico to review whether workers at Tubos de Acero de Mexico, S.A. (TAMSA), located in Veracruz, Mexico, are being denied the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining. The United States has suspended liquidation of tariffs on goods from the TAMSA facility, which manufactures steel pipes and other related products.

Background

Neil Beck is the Assistant U.S. Trade Representative (AUSTR) for WTO and Multilateral Affairs. In this role, he oversees USTR’s work on trade-related issues in the G7, G20, OECD, and the WTO. WASHINGTON – Today, the Office of the United States Trade Representative announced a public comment process to consider proposed modifications to certain aspects of Annexes III and IV in the action (90 Fed. Reg. 17114, April 23, 2025) in the Section 301 Investigation of China’s Targeting of the Maritime, Logistics, and Shipbuilding Sectors for Dominance. The deadline for submission of comments is July 7, 2025.
